That is crazy that they consider ALL pickups commercial vehicles. Who makes these laws in CA and where do they get their info from?? In NY the truck has to be over a certain weight and I think this is crazy as well because most diesels are considered commercial. A lot of guys drive diesels as their personal DD's.
